History of Dr. Lindsay Rosenwald

Dr. Lindsay Rosenwald, Chairman of the Paramount Group of companies, is known as among the leading businessmen in division of biotechnology. Right after graduating from Temple in 1983, Dr. Rosenwald got an internship at Abington Medical Hospital and remained in private medical practice right up until 1986. At that point, he relocated to Wall Street to serve as a physician/financial expert, a specialized mixture of job areas, which hardly any boasted at that time.

In 1991, Dr. Rosenwald formed Paramount BioCapital, and in the 19 years since then has totally changed the field of bioresearch and biotechnology. Cougar Biotechnology, another business launched by Dr. Rosenwald, was acquired by Johnson & Johnson in 2009 based exclusively on abiraterone acetate. This substance wasn't yet in phase III medical trials for its application in the treatment of prostate cancer but was so encouraging that Johnson & Johnson obtained the organization in a “short-term merger” for approximately $1 billion. Abiraterone acetate is also significant as having been influenced by a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practice. In addition to his activities, which have offered investment capital and financing to many portfolio organizations, Dr. Rosenwald also founded the Rosenwald Foundation, a nonprofit organization that has bequeathed millions of dollars to aid different scientific and medical training establishments. His kind gifts offer the means for scientists to produce the medications of the future.
